I just installed Visual Studio 2008 on a laptop running Windows XP Service Pack 2. I get the following error whenever I try to launch Visual Studio:
"Problem loading BIDS Helper: Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.
at System.Reflection.Module._GetTypesInternal(StackCrawlMark&stackMark)
at System.Reflection.Assembly.GetTypes()
at BidsHelper.Connect.Extensibility.IDTExtensibility2.OnConnection(Object application, ext_ConnectMode, Object addInInst(array & Custom)
I haven't the slightest idea what any of that means. I wish Microsoft would start writing error messages for the people who USE their software rather than the people who built it.
