Hi
I am trying to establish action type "Url" >Attribute members on tabular model ( sql 2012).
However after saving , its not showing up as action in context menu of that attribute member in excel. Just to make sure action editor is working on my tabular model, I successfully created
action type "drillthrough". Pl help me to establish action type url. I exactly followed steps in your help blog.

Can you post exactly what values you put in for every field on the URL action setup? And can you confirm the table and column names mentioned in any of the MDX expressions?

Are there perspectives in your Tabular model? In Excel are you connecting to the base cube or a perspective?

Where exactly in an Excel PivotTable are you right clicking and hoping to see the action?

Here are the values

Action : Url link to opportunity
Name: Url link to opportunity
Caption: Test ( checked Caption is MDX)
action type : url
Target type: Attribute Members
Target: [opportunity].[Oppotunity #]
Condition : (left blank)
Expression: https://twitter.com/
Invocation : Interactive
Perspective : Checked one of the perspective : Opportunities

I have not used any table& column names yet in the expression, but for testing I just want action to take me to test website.
Yes are there are many perspectives in tabular model and In excel I am connected to one of the perspective : Opportunities.

In excel pivot, I connect to the perspective : Opportunities, then drop one of the measure and attribute member > Oppotunity #. Now right click on one of the values for Oppotunity # and in the context menu expecting to see > Additional Actions>Url link to opportunity

Thanks. Pl let me know if you need any further information

The Expression needs to have double quotes around it. It's an MDX expression that returns a string:

Oh... and if you check the box that says the caption is MDX, then you need double quotes around the caption, too.

Unfortunately with actions, if anything is invalid the action silently fails and just does not display.

So I would start by unchecking the "Caption is MDX" option this will be causing to SSAS to scan your cube for any object called [Test] to try to evaluate it in order to get a string for the caption.

I think that you will also need to add quotes around the Expression so that it reads "https;//twitter.com" not just https://twitter.com - the expression is an MDX expression so any string constants would have to be quoted like this.

For now I removed check for caption is mdx. Also inserted double quotes for expression. I could get the action "Test" in excel
Thanks.Appreciate your help
However my ultimate goal is to get the associated SFDC link for opportunity ID. I tried this expression, but not working ( again action "test" invisible)
My expression
"https://my.salesforce.com/"+[Opportunity].[Opportunity Id].[Opportunity Id].CurrentMember

Nevermind . I got it
Correct syntax is

"https://my.salesforce.com/"+[Opportunity].[Opportunity Id].CurrentMember.Name
