Design Warning Scanner Error?

description

Certain packages within a VS2008 solution cause an error dialog to pop up when using the Design Warning Scanner. The message on the dialog begin with: "The given key was not present in the dictionary. at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowKeyNotFoundException()"

I'm running VS2008 on an XP machine.

I've attached a jpg of the entire dialog box as an attachment as it would not let me copy the text directly.

Any insight into a resolution of this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

** Update: seems to happen for the data flow tasks: DataFlowAsynchPathsPractice.ProcessDataFlow only when using an ADO Datasource for an ODBC connection to our mainframe. Does not happen in VS2005, only in VS2008.

Can you upload the .dtsx package in question? If we can reproduce the error we can fix it.

Hi,

I too had this error and traced it to a custom component that we use to hash columns which you can find here https://ssismhash.codeplex.com/
To replicate in VS2013, create new package, add data flow and add the component. The Design Warning Scanner will then throw the dictionary error.

Cheers
