Package Parameters - BIML / SQL 2014 in VS 2013

Aug 21, 2014 at 11:38 PM
Hello,

Has anyone got Package parameters to work in Visual Studio 2013 (using latest 1.6.6 version)?

Even the simple sample PackageParameters sample doesn't work. I don't get any error, it creates the packages ok but no parameters are created.

It just seems to ignore anything in the <Parameters> tab.

Any ideas welcome.

Thanks

I had the same issue with Package parameters.
It won't generate Project Connection Manager, either. Instead, it puts the connection manager in the package.
I've tried work-around by copying the <DTS:PackageParameters> parameter XML blob to clipboard, open the package in SQL Server Data Tool 2013, then copy the fragment back to the converted file. It opens fine and can see the parameters in the GUI and ran fine.
I would like to know if there're better ways to do this, too.

Proper BIDS Helper Biml support for SSIS 2014 and Visual Studio 2013 has been released:
https://bidshelper.codeplex.com/releases

I believe it fixes the problem mentioned in this thread. Please give it a try and let us know if you find any problems.
